Work Plan: Chinese Underground Film and Piracy

Project Goals

- Present(?) and promote a series of Chinese Independent films within the discourse of piracy – in terms of content and distribution

- Contextualising these films and surrounding them in an ongoing debate

- Recognise filmmakers and connect them to an audience

- Connect this audience to further resources – films, filmmakers, institutions, communities and information.

Target Groups

Those interested in the politics of independent/underground film and the periphery of world cinema + Film Festival goers/curators, Human Rights organisations, Chinese diaspora.

Chinese Underground Film and Piracy: Democratic intervention or criminal offense?

Results of the Project

- An online platform in which audiences and  potential audiences can access a variety of resources contextualising underground Chinese Cinema and engaging them in further debate, offering ways to find out and see more!
